The Kent Fire Department hopes a new pilot program will prioritize true emergencies and provide better care for those patients who need help, but don't require a trip to the ER. At its core, the program, called FDCARES, will rely on a team of nurses to respond to non-emergency medical calls. They'll also make house visits to check in on people who dial 911 more than others.
